Reviews Overview

Most Liked

Local patrons celebrate the freshness of every meal served at C.K. Wai. The crispy chips and the well-seasoned fish are top-rated, with many dubbing it the best chippy in the estate. The prices consistently draw positive feedback, as many find incredible value for money. Customers particularly enjoy the salt and pepper dishes, often mentioning the salt and pepper chicken as a stand-out favorite. The addition of kids' meals further endears the place to families, making it a hit with parents looking to treat their children.

Finally, the friendly service enhances the experience, with many patrons appreciating the warmth and hospitality of the staff. The busy queue is a testament to its popularity, and many see it as a good sign of quality.

Most Disliked

Some customers express frustration regarding the lack of menu prices posted publicly outside the shop. Many prefer to see pricing beforehand to plan their meals accordingly. Additionally, feedback regarding customer service indicates that some staff members could benefit from a cheerier disposition, as a few reviews mention that interactions felt a bit off. Though the food quality usually outweighs these concerns, enhancing communication and uplifting customer service could elevate the experience even more.

Lastly, since the eatery operates on a cash-only basis, patrons without access to cash might face inconvenience, which creates challenges for modern diners who prefer card payments.

Pretty good chippy. But no MENU PRICES POSTED, Unless you go in shop. For me... I want to know prices in advance. Staff need to be more cheerful and customer orientated.

This place doesn't do Just Eat, Uber Eats, or even its own deliveries. And having ordered from there for the first time I can see why....it doesn't need to. It's an old fashioned Chinese chippy, that serves up food that's so good that people will choose to come out in the cold and the wet, rather than have some rubbish delivered to them. The hot and sour soup was hot. The special curry contained nice cuts of meat and wasn't filled with onions. And the chips were golden brown. That might not sound amazing, but it's unbelievable how many other places fail to get these basics right.
